Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse. We start off with Jake Pentecost being released from jail. He is being dropped off at his home by Mako Mori, who has now become a Jaeger tech along with her sister Amara. They then discover that their mother is alive and being held captive by the company they worked for, connecting Jake to his father who has been missing since he left with the government. The story continues with many battles of epic proportions between the Jaegers and the Kaiju. The Jaegers, including Jake's brother-in-law who we haven't seen in a while, Raleigh (played by Burn Gorman), and Mako's dad (played by Cailee Spaeny) piloting a goliath fight against a sea monster kaiju on an island. The fight takes a turn for the worse when the Jaegers lose control and the robots become unresponsive. Jake and his old friend, Chuck Hansen (played by Burn Gorman), go rogue to help repair a broken Jaeger. Chuck's personality start's to change with him becoming more angry and angry at his brother-in-law, causing Jake to intervene.
